Silver Magazine began its life (in 1968) as a publication devoted to the spoon collector. Throughout the years, it has evolved into the fine resource which it is today for collectors and dealers of fine silver. As Silver Magazine moved from a monthly publication in 1968 to a bi-monthly publication in 1971, the magazine underwent several name changes:
SPOONorama News & Views — January, 1968
SPOONorama and Silver Vistas — June 1968
Silver-rama including spoon collector news — January, 1969
The Magazine Silver — January/February, 1971
Silver Magazine — January/February, 1984 to the present
Silver Magazine is now published bi-monthly. This is a wonderful publication and includes many full-color illustrations and very informative articles on silver (frequently on souvenir spoons and silver companies). Silver Magazine is the only publication specializing in the entire field of silver. Silver Magazine is a must for the collector/dealer or casual aficionado. Silver Magazine brings you all the best silver offerings and the finest in research pertaining to the world of silver.
Silver Magazine features articles on antique English, Continental and Colonial American silver as well as 20th century works; previews and reviews of auctions; information on exhibitions and show, both national and international; book reviews; opinion; "Information Please," and classified and display advertising sections.
Silver Magazine is distributed in all 50 states of the USA and in many foreign countries, and is available through subscription only. The magazine reaches approximately 6,000 readers. Wildly considered a reference resource by collectors and researchers. Silver Magazine counts among its subscribers the major museums, galleries and libraries of North America and Europe.
